《세계금궁스포츠협회 오늘의 말》독립운동가 선양사업이 필요한 이유

독립운동가 선양 사업이 필요한 이유는 조국의 자주독립을 위하여 공헌한 독립운동과 그 유적지에 대해 역사적 의미를 기리고 선열의 숭고한 업적을 계승 발전시키기 위해서이다.

세월이 흐를수록 독립운동가들의 치열했던 삶에 대한 존경과 예우가 역사의 뒤안길로 사라져 가고 있다.

독립운동가를 선양함으로써 우리 민족의 자긍심을 높일 수 있고 나아가 민족의 정체성을 되새길 수 있다.

독립운동가란 일본에게 조선이 강제합병 당하면서 조국을 되찾기 위해 목숨은 물론 모든 것을 바쳐 싸운 사람들이다.

일제치하 한반도의 해방은 1945년 8월 15일 2차 세계대전에서 패배한 일본의 국왕 히로히토의 무조건 항복 선언이 방송으로 울려퍼짐으러서 불현듯 찾아왔다.

해방 이후 독립운동가들과 수많은 사람들은 나라를 일제에 협력하며 민족을 팔아먹은 친일파들을 처단하기를 소원했다.

해방 이후 미군정 치하에 놓인 남한은 치안과 국가안정의 명분 아래 기존의 친일파들이 대거 기용되어 권력을 다시 쥐게 만들었다.

친일파들을 앞세운 결과 대한민국은 이들이 대거 집권하여 법을 개정했고 그 후손들이 현재도 이 사회에 곳곳에 큰 영향력을 행사하고 있다.

치욕의 역사를 덮고자 하는 세력들에 맞서고 불의에 항거했던 민족의 정체성을 되찾기 위해서는, 과거를 잊지 않고 되새기기 위한 선양사업을 끊임없이 추진해야만 한다.
