에어 뉴질랜드, 오클랜드-인천 노선 운항 재개

(뉴질랜드= KTN) 박춘태 기자= 에어 뉴질랜드(Air NZ)는 올해 10월 28일(월)부터 오클랜드-인천 구간의 운항을 재개한다고 지난 5월 27일 발표했다. 246석을 갖춘 보잉787-9 드림라이너가 투입된다. 

운항 기간은 금년 10월 28일부터 내년 3월 29일까지로 일주일에 세 차례 운항한다. 

한국행 비행편은 매주 월, 목, 토요일에 오클랜드에서 오전 11시 30분에 출발해서 인천공항에 당일 저녁 7시 20분(한국 시간)에 도착한다.

뉴질랜드행 비행편은 월, 목, 토요일 저녁 9시 10분에 인천공항에서 출발해서 이튿날 낮 12시 25분(뉴질랜드 시간)에 오클랜드공항에 도착한다..

에어뉴질랜드의 한국 첫 취항은 1993년 김포-오클랜드 구간에서 이뤄졌다. 1997년 12월 31일에 철수를 했는데, 이는 IMF 외환위기 여파 때문이었다.

그후 22년이 흐른 지난 2019년 11월부터 인천-오클랜드 직항편을 운영했으며, 코비드-19 팬더믹 기간에는 운항이 중단되었다. 그러다가 2022년 9월 18일부터 주 2회 운항을 재개했으나, A321 기종의 P&W 엔진 결함 문제 및 승객 감소 등의 이유로 지난 4월부터 운항을 잠정 중단한 바 있다.

다시 10월 28일 부터 운항을  재개하기로 한 것은 여객 수요 증가에 따른 것으로 보인다. 한국의 국토교통부에 의하면, 올해 1월부터 4월까지 인천-오클랜드 구간 출발 및 도착을 포함해서  58,561명으로 집계되었다. 이러한 수치는 전년 같은 기간의 47,082명보다 24.4% 증가한 수치다.

이에 따라 에어뉴질랜드 웹사이트에서 예약을 받고 있으며 편도 가격이 800~900 뉴질랜드 달러다.

Flights to Korea depart from Auckland at 11:30 a.m. every Monday, Thursday and Saturday and arrive at Incheon International Airport at 7:20 p.m. (Korean time) on the same day.

The flight to New Zealand leaves Incheon International Airport at 9:10 p.m. on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday and arrives at Auckland International Airport at 12:25 p.m. (New Zealand time) the next day..

Air New Zealand's first service to Korea took place on the Gimpo-Oakland route in 1993. It withdrew on December 31, 1997, due to the aftermath of the IMF financial crisis.

Since November 2019, 22 years later, it has operated direct flights from Incheon to Oakland, and was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, on September 18, 2022, it resumed operations twice a week, but temporarily suspended operations since April due to problems with the A321's P&W engine and a decrease in passengers.

The decision to resume operations on Oct. 28 seems to have been driven by an increase in passenger demand. According to Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the number stood at 58,561 between January and April this year, including departures and arrivals between Incheon and Auckland. The figure is 24.4 percent from 47,082 a year earlier

It's an increase.

Accordingly, reservations are accepted on the Air New Zealand website and one-way prices are between 800 and 900 New Zealand dollars.
