통일은 대박이란 말이 한때 유행했다.

남북간의 정신적 심리적 거리가 너무 먼 곳으로 와버린 듯한 지경에 이르렀으나, 역사적으로 한반도는 분열과 통일을 반복했다.

통일이란 새로운 질서 앞에 혼란스러울지라도, 늘 희망을 품을 수 있는 것은 오천년 역사의 DNA가 한반도인에게 전해져 내려오기 때문이다.

38선이 없어지고 남북의 왕래가 자연스러워 질 때 한반도인의 사고는 세계를 품는 웅대함을 갖게 될 것이다.

이는 남북한 통일에 대해 주변 강대국들이 두려워하는 이유기도 하다.

코로나19에 묻혀 점차 식어가는 듯한 통일에 대한 갈망의 불씨를 짚혀야 할 때이다.

민족의 진정어린 통일 앞에선 이념이란 남북 분단을 조장하기 위한 한낱 허울좋은 명분에 불과하지 않았다는 사실을 명심하자.
