(전국= KTN) 김도형 기자= 산림청(청장 남성현)은 경상북도 봉화군에서 개최되는 ‘동서트레일 47구간 걷기행사’ 참가자를 모집한다고 30일 밝혔다.

동서트레일은 우리나라에서는 처음으로 야영(백패킹)이 가능한 트레일로 조성중이며 산림청은 2026년까지 전체 849km 길이, 총 55개 구간을 완공할 계획이다.

지난해 6월 경북 울진 55구간에 이어 올해 4월 경북 봉화 47구간이 두번째로 개통됐다. 이를 기념해 산림청은 코레일관광개발과 함께 오는 6월 22일 국립백두대간수목원 호랑이숲 인근에서 ‘동서트레일 걷기행사’를 개최한다.

도보여행에 관심이 있는 사람이면 누구나 참가할 수 있으며 참가자에게는 백두대간수목원 입장권 2매, 점심 도시락, 소정의 기념품이 제공된다.

그 외 코레일관광개발에서는 봉화·영주 여행과 연계한 유료 참가자 70명을 별도로 모집해 동서트레일 행사와 함께 왕복 열차비, 인근 관광지 입장료 등을 포함한 관광상품을 제공할 예정이다.

참가신청은 6월 1일부터 10일까지 ‘동서트레일 47구간 걷기행사’ 누리집(www.korailtravel.com)에서 가능하며 선착순 300명을 모집한다.

한편 동서트레일 47구간에 위치한 ‘국립백두대간수목원’은 아시아 최대, 전 세계에서는 2번째로 큰 규모이며 수목원 내 ‘호랑이 숲’에서 백두산 호랑이를 직접 만날 수 있다.

이광원 산림청 숲길등산레포츠팀장은 “동서트레일 47구간은 백두대간 마루금인 박달령과 국립백두대간수목원을 연결하는 곳으로 생태와 역사, 문화적 가치가 크다”라며, “우리나라 동과 서를 연결하는 최초의 장거리 트레일인 ‘동서트레일’에 많은 관심과 참여를 기대한다”고 말했다.

- Recruitment of participants in the walking event of the 47-section of the East-West Trail at Baekdudaegan Arboretum

(National = KTN) Reporter Kim Do-hyung = Korea Forest Service (Director Nam Sung-hyun) announced on the 30th that it will recruit participants for the "East West Rail 47th Walking Event" held in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The East-West Trail is being built as the first trail in Korea that can be camped (backpacked), and the Korea Forest Service plans to complete a total of 849 km long and 55 sections by 2026.

The 47th section of Bonghwa in North Gyeongsang Province opened in April this year for the second time, following the 55th section of Uljin in June last year. In commemoration of this, the Korea Forest Service, along with KORAIL Tourism Development, will hold the "East West Trail Walking Event" near the Tiger Forest of the National Baekdu-daegan Arboretum on June 22.

Anyone interested in walking tours can participate, and participants will be provided with two tickets to Baekdudaegan Arboretum, a lunch box, and a small souvenir.

In addition, KORAIL Tourism Development will separately recruit 70 paid participants linked to Bonghwa and Yeongju trips and provide tourism products including round-trip train fees and admission fees to nearby tourist attractions along with East-West Trail events.

Participation applications will be available from June 1 to 10 on the "Walking Event for the 47th East West Trails" website (www.korailtravel.com ), and 300 people will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meanwhile, Baekdudaegan Arboretum, located in the 47th section of the East-West Trail, is the largest in Asia and the second largest in the world, and you can meet Baekdusan tigers in person in the Tiger Forest in the arboretum.

Lee Kwang-won, head of the Forest Road Climbing Sports Team of the Korea Forest Service, said, "The 47th section of the East West Trail connects Park Dal-ryeong, a marugum of Baekdudaegan Mountain Range, and the National Baekdudaegan Arboretum, and has great ecological, historical, and cultural values," adding, "We look forward to your interest and participation in the East West Trail, the first long-distance trail to connect the east and west of Korea."
