"한반도 정세와 통일 정책의 미래를 논하다! 오클랜드에서 펼쳐지는 통일강연회"

(뉴질랜드=KTN) 박춘태= 민주평화통일자문회의 뉴질랜드 협의회(회장 오창민)는 오는 7월 31(수) 오후 3시15분부터 7시까지 오클랜드 소재 The Wharf(2 Queen Street, Northcote Point, Auckland. Ariana Cuisine Restaurant)에서 “한반도 정세와 정부의 대북 통일정책 방향”을 주제로 통일강연회를 개최한다고 16일 밝혔다. 

이번 강연회는 최근 북한의 도발과 위협이 가중되고 있는 가운데, 정부의 통일 대북정책과 한반도 정세변화에 대한 이해를 제고하는 한편, 자유와 연대 협력의 외교를 인지하고 국제사회에 한반도 통일 공감대를 확산시키기 위해 마련됐다. 

강연 주제는 “최근 한반도 정세와 정부의 대북 통일정책 방향”이며, 참석 대상자는 뉴질랜드 민주평통 자문위원을 비롯해 현지 동포, 차세대, 주요 사회단체 회원들이다. 

이번 강연을 맡은 연세대 국제대학원 이정훈 교수는 현재 외교부 북한인권 국제협력대사, 통일부 통일미래기획위원회 위원장, 제21기 민주평통 인권 탈북민 지원 분과위원회 위원장으로 활동하고 있다. 

민주평통의 한 자문위원은 ‘이번 행사는 급변하는 국제 정세 속에 한반도 정세를 다각도로 파악할 수 있을 것 같다. 강연자가 탈북민 관련 전문가인 만큼 북한 정세와 북한의 인권에 대해서도 듣을 수 있게 돼, 통일담론을 어떤 방법으로 확산, 추진해 나갈지 방향타를 제시할 것으로 보인다. 아울러 차세대 주니어평통위원들도 한반도 평화통일의 중요성을 재인식하는 계가가 될 수 있을 것’이라고 했다.

"Discussing the Situation on the Korean Peninsula and the Future of Unification Policy! Unification Lecture in Auckland"

(New Zealand = KTN) Park Chun-tae = Democratic and Peaceful Unification Advisory Council New Zealand (Chairman Oh Chang-min) announced on the 16th that it will hold a unification lecture at The Wharf (2 Queen Street, Northcote Point, Auckland) in Auckland from 3:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on July 31 (Wednesday). Ariana Cuisine Restaurant will hold a unification lecture under the theme of "The situation on the Korean Peninsula and the direction of the government's unification policy toward North Korea."

The lecture was designed to enhance the government's unification North Korea policy and understanding of changes in the situation on the Korean Peninsula amid North Korea's recent provocations and threats, while recognizing the diplomacy of freedom and solidarity cooperation and spreading consensus on the unification of the Korean Peninsula to the international community.

The theme of the lecture is "Recent Situation on the Korean Peninsula and the Government's Unification Policy Direction for North Korea," and the participants are New Zealand Democratic and Commonwealth Advisory Committee, as well as local compatriots, next-generation, and members of major social organizations.

Professor Junghoon Lee of Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies, who was in charge of this lecture, is currently serving as the ambassador for international cooperation in North Korean human rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the chairman of the Unification Future Planning Committee at the Ministry of Unification, and the chairman of the 21st Democratic Peace Human Rights North Korean defector Support Subcommittee.

"This event will provide us with a variety of views on the situation on the Korean Peninsula amid rapidly changing international circumstances. As the lecturer is an expert on North Korean defectors, he will be able to hear about the situation in North Korea and human rights in the North, suggesting a direction on how to spread and pursue the unification discourse," said an advisory member of the committee. "This event will serve as an opportunity for the next generation of junior unification committee members to recognize the importance of peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula."
